FAQs

How much notice do you need for a cake order?

For wedding cakes I advise notifying me at least six months in advance of the wedding date, to avoid disappointment. For novelty cakes I require at least two weeks notice(depending on complexity/detail required). Please note particularly busy periods include summer weekends and Christmas week.

I’ve filled in the contact form. When can I expect to hear back from you?

I endeavour to respond to all queries within one week.

Can I just pop into your shop to speak to you?

Yes. However as our hours vary according to deliveries etc., it is advised to ring ahead to avoid disappointment.

What happens during a consultation?

Cake consultations take place in my Ennis premises and usually last approximately 20-40 minutes. During this time we will discuss your wedding day, your aspirations for the cake and any design ideas you might have. It’s always helpful if you bring along a few ideas or images with you so I can get the best idea of what you are looking for. I will then do a quick sketch of the cake, discuss flavours and finish and any additional requirements.

How do I order a novelty cake?

If you email me with an idea of what you would like – design, size, flavours and decoration, along with any supporting images, I will respond with a sketched design and a quote.

Are consultations only for wedding cakes?

Usually but if you would like a private consultation for a novelty cake I am happy to do that.

How do I pay?

All wedding cakes require a non refundable €100 deposit upon booking. For wedding cakes the balance must be paid one month in advance of the wedding date. Novelty cakes can be paid for on delivery/collection. I accept cash or card.

Do you deliver?

Cake delivery is available on request for an additional cost.

Do you set up the cakes, and is there a charge for set up?

Yes, set up at a venue is €30. If you are collecting your cake from Ennis, cakes will be already assembled (unless otherwise requested), so you will need a flat bootspace in which to transport the cake. Please note I take no responsibility for collected cakes once they have left the shop.

I’m not happy with my cake. What now?

I have every confidence you will be happy with your cake but in the unlikely event that you are unhappy please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss any issues you may have.
